Who are we today?

Cameron Park has such a rich history with how we came to be. When a group was marketing our community, they coined it “a special place to live.” We know what they meant then. In researching the history of Cameron Park, there really was a special vision for the Camerons, and some of it was realized. But does it stand the test of time? How do we invite small business and families of all kinds to our special place? How do we become marketable in today’s society where people feel safe emotionally and financially investing here? We can all say “no change”, “no development” but evolution is inevitable.

With the opening of Moonraker Brewing company on the horizon and fresh new businesses like Tres Calaveras, and Mom and Pop’s Chicken Shop, I see Cameron Park’s identity morphing into a cool, hip place to taste beer, go disc golfing and maybe grab a unique bite. A special place with interesting roots a golf course and a lake!

I mean, who has an airport in the middle of a neighborhood? Why not take advantage of our uniqueness and wear it loud and proud that Cameron Park is a cool place to be. What are your thoughts? Who are we today? What do you hope for our future?
